How Reliable Is Alexa Rank For 100,000+ Sites?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Wow, I’m at this site of mine here which I don’t really do much with anymore and I’m suprised to see an Alexa Ranking of 1.1 million. I know this site gets less than 20 visitors a day.

Meanwhile my Lomi Lomi site averages at least 100 visitors a day and it shows an Alexa Ranking of 1.5 million…  A new Power Blog site that I built for my client who is a Financial Analyst shows an Alexa of 753,000 and she’s only averaging 50 visitors a day.

I can understand that there are update times and everything but that really doesn’t make sense for my lomi site as it used to have an Alexa of 700,000 for almost a year and now it gets more visitors and shows as 1.5m   Weird!

Is Blogging Right For your Business

Head on over to my new site SEO Publicity and check out how whether you should be blogging or not.

To Blog or Not to Blog, that is the question!  The same answer does not apply for everyone…

Imagine for a moment that a blog is like a huge toolbox…
Inside this toolbox are all sorts of tools that help you:

  •  Get visitors from hundreds or even thousands of other websites to come to your site for free
(send these visitors to your offers, afiliate url’s or make money when they click on advertisements
  • Get as many links as you want for free
(even very high PageRank  links which rapidly increases your search engine ratings)
  • Be 100x more search engine friendly than the majority of websites online.
(assuming that you are using a “seo-tweaked ” version of Wordpress)
  • Have your content syndicated on 100’s or thousands of other websites  : )
  • Gain popularity in Web2.0 sites which brings more visitors and raises your brand awareness
  • Deliver personal messages to your subscribers via RSS feeds
(100% deliverability + reach “more sophisticated users” who would not subscribe to your email list)
  • Publish your content easily and professionally without being technically savvy
(if you can use email, you can blog!)
  • Establish your reputation as an authority in your niche
    (If not now, when?)”

Way Beyond Link Building

The web is changing in a big way. It’s changed so much in
the last year, wow!

One of the biggest changes is in how we do our SEO and
marketing. Search Engine Optimization is such a small
part of the new ways to get web traffic. It also goes beyond
“getting web traffic”…

It’s about how we interrelate and the content we produce.

Visit my new blog One Way Link Building to learn about what
I’m up to right now. In the next 4 weeks I will be creating 2
new sites. I have received an amazing vision and I will be detailing
what happens in the creative process.

Check out the Submit To Dogpile Experiment on my blog as well.

Cheers,
Jason

Review of the Maven Matrix Manifesto

I just finished reading this special report from Rich Schefren and Jay Abraham. Wow  - There’s a lot of great stuff in it but what really made me think was how often we bypass good old common sense.

Harv Eker tells a funny story about how to be the best in your industry. “Do the opposite of what everyone else is doing”. It makes perfect sense when you consider that 4% of the people earn 96% of the dollars…

As always it comes down to connecting with others. Rich and Jay have done a tremendous job at distilling HOW to connect with others. I give it 2 thumbs up!
